UPDATE: as of July 2025, our Daggerford server has renamed to ALFA: Sea of Swords, to reflect the fact that this server now covers a huge swathe of the Forgotten Realms setting including the legendary ALFA recreation of Waterdeep city, the Sword Mountains and (it is rumoured…) the deep dark of Undermountain and Skullport! Hop in-game to find out more… but beware the threats that lurk around every corner in the City of Splendours!
Find us on the in-game NWN:EE server list – the server is called ‘ALFA: Sea of Swords‘
The server
One of the two servers that make up the ALFA: Sea of Swords persistent world, ALFA: Sea of Swords brings the two classic Forgotten Realms Dungeons and Dragons settings of Waterdeep and Daggerford to life, in Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition.Â
Players will find no shortage of opportunities for adventure in this server.
In the Daggerford region of the server, elves maintain their own city in the Misty Forest, and adventurers often whisper about the riches and horrors that lurk in the ruins of Dragonspear Castle, where it is said dragons themselves have made their lair. A huge number of classic dungeons from the FR sourcebooks, such as the legendary House of Stone, have been recreated in fantastic detail by our builders over the many years of this server’s development.
In Waterdeep, the many-levelled House of the Homeless lies beneath the haunted City of the Dead, and the seemingly unending network of labyrinthine sewers hold threats (and treasures) uncounted. Many of the canon dungeons there for you to explore, such as Black Well Court, and rumours even tell of secret passages and paths that may lead the unwary or the unscrupulous all the way down into the hidden subterranean Undermountain, and the sprawling underdark city of Skullport…
Beyond these two hubs of civilisation, the wilds await; vast portions of the Sword Coast map have been added as explorable areas in our server.
Waterdeep
There is a place. A place of adventure, and epic tales. Tales of love, and tales of evil. Many have found this place – and many have lost themselves there, too.
It is… a city. A City of Splendours. – Anon
Our server includes a huge, to-scale re-creation of the canon Forgotten Realms setting of Waterdeep, with hundreds of in-game locations matching the beloved maps and sourcebook descriptions of this iconic city.

In the City of Splendours you will find a vast array of quests and adventures, hundreds of merchants selling curiosities great and small, and powerful factions and guilds who compete for prominence in the city’s ever-changing political landscape… both above ground, and in the grimey underworld beneath the streets.

Daggerford
The area between the two great cities of the Sword Coast—Waterdeep and Baldur’s Gate—is dominated by the Duchy of Daggerford, a modest walled city that grew from roots as a farming settlement, but which has grand ambitions to rival its northern neighbor, the City of Splendors itself. While regarded mostly as a better-than-average stopover by most travellers and adventurers, the city itself maintains a strong and well-trained militia, thanks to the diligent efforts of the locals. The area is also known for the Mosque of Tyr, a stronghold and temple where adherents to the Maimed God study and train.
